FenaSaúde creates fraud prevention and combat management, which can commit up to BRL 14.5 billion per year

The National Federation of Supplementary Health (FenaSaúde), an entity that represents 14 large groups of health plans in the country, responsible for 41% of the beneficiaries of the market, has just created a Management for the Prevention and Fight against Fraud, a topic that has been gaining relevance in several markets in recent years, including supplementary health. The initiative aims to promote actions to combat and prevent fraud in the sector, which today can commit up to R$ 14.5 billion annually in public and private health budgets, as pointed out by the Instituto Etica Saúde (IES). The amount would be enough to build 1,400 field hospitals or buy 290,000 mechanical respirators.

This is another FenaSaúde initiative to curb bad practices in the health system. The entity has intensified actions such as the practice of meetings with different entities, establishment of working groups to exchange experiences, communication actions and legal proceedings against fraudsters.
