“Insurers made a difference” in the pandemic, says president of FenaPrevi

Jorge Nasser assesses in the Panorama do Seguro program that the market has undergone the biggest test of resistance it has ever faced
The 104th edition of Panorama do Seguro, by Sindseg SP, received the president of FenaPrevi, Jorge Pohlmann Nasser, for a conversation about life and social security. The program presented by Paulo Alexandre also had the participation of economist Francisco Galiza.

Nasser highlighted the R$ 1 trillion mark in assets managed by private pensions and attributed the result to the ‘innovation capacity and speed of adaptation of the insurers’ at the time of crisis. And he recalled that, in terms of life insurance, companies also paid indemnity policies with the exclusion of pandemics.

The executive also scored the more than R$41 billion in redemptions just in the first months of 2021. “Even though it is an investment for the future, at the time of emergency, the private pension reserves were extremely important”.

Nasser assessed that the industry was able to react to the crisis situation and quickly adapt to the new economic scenario “offering a range of solutions” that ended up meeting new expectations and participant profiles. “The pension portfolio gained in options and offers and the consumer gained in flexibility and transparency”.

‘Insurers have made a difference’ in people’s lives and the market has undergone ‘the biggest test of resistance’ it has ever faced and “it will come out stronger from this crisis, he concluded.
