Insurers’ revenue increases 11.2% in the first half of the year

The total collection of insurance companies reached R$ 295.4 billion in the first six months of 2022, a growth of 11.2% compared to the same period last year.

The general ranking considers Damage and Liability Insurance, Personal Insurance, Private Pension Plans, Supplementary Health and Capitalization. The data take into account a survey by Susep and ANS (National Supplementary Health Agency).

The Bradesco group continues to lead the ranking of collections in the sector as a whole, with a total of R$ 45.7 billion. The institution also leads the Supplementary Health (R$ 16.8 billion), Personal Insurance (R$ 5.4 billion) and Capitalization (R$ 3.2 billion) segment.

The BB group ranks second overall, with total revenue of R$33.9 billion. BB is the leader in Private Pension Plans (R$ 24.6 billion).

The Caixa group comes in third overall, with R$ 19.9 billion. The Sul América group (R$ 12.2 billion) and the Zurich group (R$ 11.8 billion) complete the list of the five largest in terms of revenue. The Porto group appears in sixth place in the sector, with R$ 10.5 billion and is the leader in general insurance (R$ 7.7 billion).

“This general ranking of the sector is important for the strategic positioning of companies and shows that it is a competitive market with low concentration”, said the technical director of studies at CNseg, Alexandre Leal.
