“Looking to the future and talking to society” was the message from the president of CNseg in the 8th edition of Enconseg

The event that marks the meeting of insurance brokers, held by SINCOR-RJ, brought together representatives of the insurance sector and had the participation of the president of the National Confederation of Insurance Companies (CNseg), Dyogo Oliveira, and the president of the Board of Directors of CNseg, Roberto Santos.

The 8th edition of Enconseg took place after a hiatus caused by the pandemic and brought as its theme “Confidence in the Future”, which was addressed in an initial lecture led by businessman and professor Arthur Igreja. Economist Ricardo Amorim also participated in the event with a presentation on macroeconomics.

During the panel presented by CNseg, SINCOR-RJ and FENACOR, brokers participated through questions. The president of CNseg, Dyogo Oliveira, said that the insurance sector still needs to look further into the future. According to him, it is necessary to communicate more and the insurance broker needs to talk to society and be very prepared to listen as well.

“We have made major changes in our communication, focusing on the benefits for the community and how much we have benefits for society. we see very positively the strengthening of the brokerage profession. At its core, an insurance policy is a promise. this requires a relationship of trust, which is difficult to pass through digital”

The chairman of the board of directors of CNseg, Roberto Santos, commented that the moment is one of the most important in the insurance market. He highlighted the union between brokers and insurance companies to overcome difficult times in the sector, whether due to threats in legislation or in the digitalization of processes and companies. “The role of the broker was put to the test for a long time because of the change in the management of legislation and we managed to get through it. The broker’s role has also been put to the test because of the arrival of digitization. However, two platforms that were created in the United States to sell insurance without brokers are already having to hire brokers,” he said.

The president of Sincor-RJ, Henrique Brandão, drew attention to the difficulty of registering small insurance brokers and those from rural towns with insurance companies. According to him, this has been a major obstacle to the development of professionals in the area. “In years that I have been president of the union, I spend 30% of my time fighting to register these brokers with insurance companies. I call and try to register myself. It would be simple: the insurance company could inform which type of broker it works with, because then the professional would not have to wait 5 to 6 months to register and not be able to get it,” he said.

Enconseg also had representatives of the insurance companies SulAmérica, Bradesco Seguros, MAG Seguros and Porto in the panel “Roda viva com o broker”. To close the event, the writer and digital thinker Marta Gabriel gave a presentation on “Phygital and customer relationships”; and professor and writer Leandro Karnal led the last panel with the theme “The future starts today”.
